Wednesday 30’th of march 2016 U.S. (FDA) Federal Food and Drug Administration announced new recommendations for medication to terminate pregnancy in the U.S.
The new LABEL has got its dosage changed for the two drugs used to make an abortion. 70 days into pregnancy can the dose be used which is 10 weeks. Usually 6-8 weeks after a woman finds out she is pregnant. The new recommendation is 3 weeks longer than the previously recommendation. Also the professional health care workers get its recommendation for prescription such as a nurse practititioner.
It is now for many pre-term pregnant women an option to make abortion with blessing from FDA even if some states been practicing harder guidelines such as Texas and Ohio. Now doctors and nurses can prescribe with FDA approved usage, and not follow the Politicians bashing about the issue of abortion.
Republican presidential runner and the one to most probably win the nomination of the Republican Party in the U.S. stated also on wednesday, women who have abortion should get punished, his quote: ‘women who undergo abortions should face “some form of punishment” if the procedure were outlawed’.
This is quiet a contradictory to the new FDA guidelines for abortion medication across the states, and continues Donald Trump’s bashing of women in an extremely manner. Trump did adjust his quote to include ‘illegal manner’ after his first quote.
Speculations are now high if Donald Trump really becomes the next U.S. president that these new FDA guidelines will be reverted and women facing no option in the U.S. to proceed with the pregnancy. In other countries like Saudi Arabaia and Iran women use methods of illegal secret abortions once being pregnant to stay in control of their own body. These methods does not belong to a developed country like the U.S. Neither does the thought process of free thinking and elections stop women across the U.S. to be able to choose when and if they are having children.
Immediate after Donald Trump’s quote, the Democratic Party’s front runner for presidential nomination elections Ms Hillary Clinton quoted on Twitter: ‘Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse. Horrific and telling. -H ‘.
It is really interesting to see FDA setting new guidelines in the middle of presidential nomination process for both parties in the U.S. and the political reactions to quotes and reactions to the FDA adjusted guidelines.
